In yet another chapter of the ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, dozens have been killed and injured since dawn on Friday in a series of air and ground assaults targeting multiple areas across the enclave, including makeshift shelters, displacement tents, and civilian gatherings.
These attacks form part of a systematic campaign pursued by the occupying forces for nearly two years, marked by the deliberate targeting of civilians, the methodical destruction of infrastructure, and the collective starvation of the population, flagrant violations of international humanitarian law and fundamental human rights, chiefly the right to life and dignity.
According to medical sources and eyewitnesses, an Israeli drone struck a tent sheltering displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, killing four civilians and injuring four others.
In the Tabariyah Station area west of the same city, a Palestinian woman was killed and others injured when another displacement tent was shelled.
In a particularly grave incident, Israeli soldiers opened fire on a crowd of Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid in southern Khan Younis, killing three and injuring 73 others, a stark illustration of excessive brutality and collective punishment against besieged civilians.
In Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, a civilian vehicle was hit by a drone missile, resulting in four more civilian deaths.
This pattern of attacks underscores a deliberate policy of unlawful killings and a total disregard for distinguishing between civilian and military targets, in direct breach of the Geneva Conventions.
Since 7 October 2023, Gaza’s population has endured a genocidal war that has killed or injured over 207,000 people, the majority being women and children, with nearly 9,000 reported missing. This has unfolded alongside near-total collapse of healthcare and humanitarian systems, widespread infrastructure destruction, and the transformation of vast areas of Gaza into rubble.
The war in Gaza has become a relentless inferno, sparing neither hospitals, schools, nor displacement camps, and deploying all means of terror and starvation in a manner that legally constitutes genocide under international law.
Despite rulings from the International Court of Justice and repeated United Nations appeals to halt the assault, the occupying forces continue, with political impunity and sustained Western military backing, to devastate Palestinian lives in plain view of the world.
What is happening in Gaza today is not only a humanitarian catastrophe but also a profound legal and moral disgrace for the international system, whose shameful silence persists in the face of one of the 21st century’s most egregious crimes.
