For the thirteenth day in a row, the Israeli occupation army has been advancing on the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip. The camp is under strict siege amid total shortage of fuel, food, and drink.
On October 6, the occupation army announced the start of a ground invasion in the northern Gaza Strip, as part of its genocide war aimed at displacing Palestinian citizens to the south.
The occupation army persists in committing “genocide crimes” by deepening the state of famine against 200,000 Palestinians in Jabalia camp, amid intensive shelling, blowing up residential buildings, and destroying whole neighborhoods.
The Palestinian Civil Defense Authority said in a statement on Thursday that “our crews were able to put a large fire out in a house belonging to the Saleh family, near the Abu Rashid pond in Jabalia camp after it was bombed by the Israeli army.”
A Palestinian was killed and others were injured in an Israeli shelling that targeted Khalifa School, which houses displaced persons in the Sheikh Zayed area in the Beit Lahia project in northern Gaza Strip.
The shelling led to the outbreak of a large fire inside the school corridors, and the flames devoured many of the displaced persons’ belongings. Several people were injured during the attack and were transferred to the Indonesian Hospital for treatment.
Palestinian homes in Jabalia camp and Beit Lahia town were subjected to intense artillery shelling, resulting in several deaths and injuries that ambulance and civil defense crews were unable to reach due to the heavy Israeli fire.
The occupation forces also opened heavy fire around the Saftawi area northwest of the Gaza Strip, targeting several local homes in Jabalia camp with their owners inside.
Israeli occupation gunboats also opened their machine gunfire towards the coast of Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip. No initial injuries were reported.
While the Israeli occupation forces continue to besiege and bombard the northern Gaza Strip, and prevent the entry of food, water and fuel, the bodies of the dead are scattered in the streets and roads and under the rubble of destroyed homes, as it is impossible for civil defense crews to reach the victims.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has continued to carry out a war of genocide on the Gaza Strip, which has led to a catastrophic deterioration of the humanitarian and health conditions due to the ongoing bombing and the tight siege that prevents the arrival of basic supplies of food, water, medicine, and electricity.
