The humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip is worsening day by day, as residents face a suffocating blockade and relentless bombardment that continues to claim more lives, in what amounts to a full-scale genocide.
In the past few hours, medical sources reported that the death toll in Gaza has risen to 31, including children, as a result of bombardment and gunfire by the occupying forces since dawn on Thursday across various areas.
The massacres included the targeting of a tent sheltering displaced people in the Tel al-Hawa neighbourhood in southwest Gaza City, killing four civilians, including three children. Seven members of the Abu al-Eish family were also killed after their tent was struck in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, while an airstrike on the Habib family home in the al-Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City left three dead and others wounded.
In the south of the Strip, three civilians waiting for humanitarian aid were killed when occupation forces bombed a group near Khan Younis. Another civilian was killed and others wounded by occupation gunfire southeast of Deir al-Balah.
These events confirm the deliberate targeting of civilians in their homes, shelters, and while searching for food, clearly exposing a systematic military policy of starvation and extermination.
The humanitarian situation is becoming increasingly catastrophic in light of the occupation’s closure of border crossings since 2 March, plunging the Strip into famine, while aid trucks pile up at the borders and are looted by groups under Israeli protection, according to local testimonies.
Although a limited number of trucks have been allowed in, the quantities fall far short of meeting even the minimum needs of the population. As a result, famine has so far claimed 370 lives, including 131 children.
The occupation army has also officially announced the launch of a new military operation under the name “Gideon’s Chariots 2” to fully occupy Gaza City, warning of further humanitarian explosions as hundreds of thousands of displaced people endure harsh conditions without water, food, or safe shelter.
The assault has so far produced horrifying figures: 63,746 killed and 161,245 wounded, in addition to more than 9,000 missing, most of them still under the rubble, while hundreds of thousands remain trapped in hunger and displacement.
All these indicators combined leave no doubt that what is taking place in Gaza is not merely a war, but a genocide aimed at eradicating the Palestinian people—their existence, their lives, and their rights—amidst international silence.
