For 47 days, the Israeli occupation has relentlessly waged a genocide in Gaza, resulting in a catastrophic death toll and numerous injuries among Palestinians.
As reported by the Gaza Government Media Office, since October 7th, the Israeli aggression has claimed 14,128 lives, including 5,840 children and 3,920 women. This barbaric act has also injured around 33,000 citizens, with over 75% being women and children. Many are still trapped under the debris of homes razed by Israeli airstrikes.
The statement reveals that the Israeli occupation forces have committed over 1,354 massacres. More than 6,800 people are missing, either buried beneath the rubble or their bodies strewn in the streets, unattainable due to the Israeli siege. This figure includes 4,500 children and women.
Furthermore, Israeli occupation forces have killed 205 medical staff members, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics. In addition to this, 22 civil defence crew members and 62 journalists have been killed, in what appears to be an attempt to suppress the Palestinian narrative.
The onslaught by the Israeli occupation forces have rendered 26 hospitals and 55 health centres inoperable. This has been exacerbated by the targeted destruction of 55 ambulances, with dozens more rendered useless due to fuel shortages.
In a blatant act of aggression, Israeli occupation forces bombed Al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza, causing numerous casualties within. The Israeli occupation forces are actively besieging and bombarding the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza, leading to scores of deaths and injuries, with the occupation forces preventing the burial of the deceased.
According to the statement, the Israeli occupation forces are currently occupying the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, converting it into a military barracks, a mass grave, and a hub for direct killings.
The destruction extends to 100 government buildings and 266 schools, 66 of which are now non-functional. The Israeli offensive has also completely demolished 83 mosques and partially damaged 170 others, along with targeting 3 churches.
Residential devastation is immense, with 44,000 housing units completely destroyed and 230,000 partially damaged, affecting over 60% of the housing units in Gaza.
On the 47th day of the aggression, Israeli warplanes targeted populated homes in central Gaza after midnight, killing 41 Palestinians and wounding dozens, with more still missing under the rubble.
Rescue teams have extracted more than 30 bodies and several injured following dawn airstrikes on 10 houses in the Al-Shuja’iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City. At least 10 citizens were killed and several injured when Israeli warplanes targeted two houses in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.
Displaced individuals from northern Gaza, seeking refuge in the south, report that Israeli occupation forces arrested several injured people last night as they were moving from the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza to the European Hospital in Khan Yunis. The injured were mistreated and forced to crawl over long distances.
Since October 7th, Israel’s devastating war on Gaza has led to dire humanitarian and health crises, with continuous bombing and blockades of food, water, medical supplies, and electricity.
The Israeli aggression on Gaza blatantly violates international humanitarian law and human rights, endangering civilian lives and property, and causing severe suffering. Urgent and decisive international intervention is needed to halt the aggression and protect civilians in Gaza.
This situation demands action from international institutions to force Israeli occupation forces to comply with international laws and human rights treaties, protect civilian rights and lives, prevent targeting, ensure safety, and hold responsible those leaders committing war crimes in Gaza and beyond.
