Israeli occupation continues to bomb various areas of the Gaza Strip for the 22nd day in a row, resulting in large numbers of deaths and injuries among Palestinians.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health; The death toll from the occupation’s aggression against Gaza has risen to 7703 dead, including 3595 children, 19734 wounded, and large numbers are still under the rubble of homes demolished by the occupation’s aircraft bombing.
The ministry said that the Israeli occupation turned the Gaza Strip into a mass of flame, and committed 53 massacres during the past hours, claiming the lives of 377 Palestinian civilians.
It showed that 825 massacres committed by the occupation annihilated entire families leaving 5824 Palestinians dead, and hundreds other under the rubble.
The Ministry of Health appealed to all medical and nursing graduates and students and retired doctors to volunteer and help due to the pressure on hospitals and the scarcity of human staff.
The Ministry called for urgent international intervention to protect health institutions, hospitals and medical teams in the Gaza Strip, noting that the occupation paralysed the health system as a result of cutting off communications and the Internet.
The Palestinian Health Ministry called on Egypt to immediately open the Rafah crossing to ensure the flow of health aid, fuel, and the transfer of the sick and wounded to outside hospitals for treatment.
It pointed out that “the Israeli occupation deliberately causes complete collapse to the health system due to its intransigence in bringing fuel and emergency medical needs.”
It warned of “a health catastrophe as a result of hospitals turning into shelter centers housing tens of thousands of displaced people in unsanitary conditions that have caused the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases.”
The ministry said, “The continued policy of the entering limited medical aid does not help the health system and will result in more victims,” noting that “the failure to immediately enter fuel into all hospitals threatens the lives of thousands of wounded and sick people who need life-saving services.”
The Palestinian Health Ministry called on all parties to “take urgent and effective measures to save the collapsed health system and restore its functions in treating thousands of sick and injured people.”
The Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, as it exposes the lives and property of civilians to extreme danger, and causes them great suffering, which requires urgent intervention from the international community to stop the aggression and protect civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The institutions of the international community must force the Israeli occupation forces to abide by international laws and treaties on human rights and international humanitarian law. They must be obliged to protect the rights and lives of civilians, prohibit targeting them and preserve their safety, and bring leaders responsible for committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip and elsewhere to justice.
