The gruesome killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey has put the spotlight on UK and US arms trade with Saudi Arabia and the war on Yemen. Yet despite Saudi admission of Khashoggi’s murder, UK trade continues unabated.
Join us for a timely discussion as we examine why the special relationship and the impact of the trade with Saudi Arabia – and what can be done to bear pressure on the UK government to reverse this policy.

Ben Keith
Barrister at 5 St Andrew’s Hill, he specialises in human rights and extradition proceedings in post-soviet states including Russia and Azerbaijan. Associate Lecturer in Human Rights, Birkbeck College, University of London.
Andrew Smith
Media Coordinator and spokesperson for Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT); advised and worked on press and media strategy for a range of companies and charities; writes about politics and culture.
Prof. Paul Reynolds
International Relations and Economics advisor including Chief Political Adviser to Iraq Coalition Forces; UK adviser in Afghanistan, the GCC, Jordan, Kuwait, China, Russia and Djibouti opposition groups. Member of the Liberal International (BG) Executive.
