Today, Monday 25 October, Israeli occupation forces have arrested 10 Palestinian citizens across the West Bank – including two children and a cancer patient.
In Ramallah, occupation forces arrested Ahmed Salah Abu Adhab, from the al-Am’ari refugee camp, and Abdel Baset Maatan, a teacher from al-Bireh, despite the seriousness of cancer-suffering Maatan’s health condition.
In Jenin, occupation forces arrested Anas Adnan Hamrasha (after having physically assaulted him), and Musab Bilal Harzallah.
In al-Zawiyah, in the Salfit governorate, occupation forces arrested two children, Yasser Arafat Haitham Shukair and Yazan Naim Qadous, following a raid of their parents’ homes. Yasser and Yazan are just ten years-old.
In Hebron, Israeli occupation forces arrested Nader Ramzi Nader Zahida. Zahida, in his twenties, is from the Iskan al-Baladiyat neighbourhood of Hebron.
In the Nablus governorate, occupation forces arrested three Palestinian citizens, all from the town of Beita. They are Salah Bani Shamsa, Iyad Dhiab, and Yehia Dhiab.
And in occupied East Jerusalem or al-Quds as it is known in Arabic, Israeli forces arrested three Palestinians from the Silwan neighborhood. They are Seif Ibrahim Samrin, Yahya Ziyad Sharaf, and Amir al-Karak.
According to Palestinian groups specializing in prisoners affairs, Israel currently holds approximately 4,850 prisoners, including 41 female detainees, 225 children, and 550 “administrative detainees”, or those held under military order without trial.
Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) has repeatedly called on the international community to pressure the occupation authorities to desist from committing such violations against Palestinians. Without such pressure, all evidence suggests that Israeli authorities will continue to act outside of and contrary to international law.
AOHR UK underlines that the continued denial of justice for Palestinians, and in particular the lack of seriousness of the measures taken against Israel, further encourages the occupation to commit human-rights abuses – for which Palestinians continue to pay the price.
