The Spanish Authorities is Fully Responsible for the Safety of Mohamed Ali
Arab Organization for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) called on the Spanish authorities to impose strict levels of protection on the Egyptian contractor Mohamed Ali after reliable reports provided information of Egyptian intelligence activity targeting him.
AOHR UK stated that the recordings of Mohamed Ali, which was widespread and expose corruption within the army and the presidency is disturbing the regime. This has driven General Sisi, in an unprecedented manner, to respond to him at the Eighth Youth Conference.
AOHR UK pointed out that the importance of these recordings, which included sensitive information, provoked the security and media systems to work hard in order to reduce its access and impact on the Egyptian public; however all attempts have failed.
AOHR UK stressed that the Egyptian regime, which failed to limit the impact of these recordings, seeks to silence Mohamed Ali. Either this is planned to happen by making a deal with Mohamed Ali -which seems impossible- or killing him in the same manner in which the regime deals with its rivals and opponents.
AOHR UK asserted that the Spanish authorities bear full responsibility for the safety of Mohamed Ali and his family, as he is exercising his right to freedom of opinion and expression, and exposes the corruption on media platforms. This right is legally guaranteed, especially after all means of justice and right to expression in Egypt have been obstructed.
