On Saturday afternoon, December 4, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired at a Palestinian youth from a zero distance.
Mohamed Shaukat Abu Salimah, from Salfit West Bank, was shot dead in Bab Al-Aloud area.
A bystander documented the shooting at a young man while he was lying on the ground without resistance or posing danger to anyone.
Two soldiers of the IOF shot him with 6 bullets in his body.
The occupation claimed that the young man had carried out a stabbing attack on a 20-year-old settler, who was passing by from Bab al-Amoud area.
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said in defence of the two killer soldiers “The soldiers acted quickly and forcefully against a terrorist who tried to kill an Israeli citizen. I ask that they be given full support. This was expected of our soldiers and this is how they did. We must not allow our capital to turn into a hotbed of terrorism.”
And the Israeli Foreign Minister, Yair Lapid, said on his Twitter account: “I support the security forces and the members of the Obeidah wedding guard through a tweet to him in.”, adding “
“I support our soldiers, and we do not give the terrorists the opportunity to penetrate the city of Jerusalem and the whole country”.
Meanwhile, the IOF closed the entrances to the Old City of occupied Jerusalem leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque and evacuated the Bab Al-Amoud area, while the occupation police fired tear gas and sound bombs at Palestinian citizens, resulting in the injury of three people, and the arrest of two others.
This comes as part of an ongoing escalation by the IOF against the Palestinian people via daily executions, massive arbitrary arrests, and violation of all basic rights of Palestinians, in light of repeated incendiary statements by Israeli leaders calling for targeting Palestinian citizens merely on suspicion.
