The number of victims of protests in Sudan since October 25 has risen to 48, following the death of a protester who died of his wounds on Friday evening.
The citizen Hamdi Badr Al-Din Ahmed Al-Faki died in Al-Khartoum hospital, after being shot in the head by the Sudanese security forces.
Al-Faki was injured during his participation in the so-called “December 19 Million” (this December) in the capital, Khartoum.
With the death of Al-Faki, the number of people killed since the emergency measures taken by the Military Council in Sudan on October 25 last, has risen to 48.
On the other hand, Internet service was cut in Sudan this morning, Saturday, hours before the start of demonstrations calling for civilian rule, while the Sudan Doctors Association announced a new death toll from the protests since October 25.
Reuters news agency quoted an eyewitness as saying that internet been stopped in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, in the early hours of Saturday morning, ahead of planned protests.
Since last October 25, Sudan has been experiencing a hard time, following the declaration of the state of emergency by the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, who also dissolved the Sovereignty Councils and transitional ministers, and dismissed MPs, following the arrest of party leaders, ministers and officials, in response for the ongoing protests rejecting these measures, as a “military coup.”
