The occupation follows various forms of restrictions on the residents of Jerusalem to forcibly leave their city
Today at dawn, The Israeli occupation authorities demolished 10 shops in Hizma town, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
The Israeli occupation forces claimed that these shops, which are before the occupation courts, were built without a permit and located in an area under the control of the Jerusalem Municipality, which is affiliated with the occupation.
Owners of the shops said that the occupation authorities not only demolished the shops, but also destroyed the equipment and goods stored there.
Hizma town, located outside the separation wall, and a public road linking a number of West Bank settlements with the city of Jerusalem, is subjected to continuous violations by the occupation forces, through restricting and arresting its people, sabotaging and demolishing their property, and seising their lands for the benefit of the settlements surrounding the town.
Today, Monday, the Israeli municipality demolished a residential building in the town of Issawiya in occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of building without a permit.
The municipality’s crews and mechanisms, accompanied by dozens of police and special forces, surrounded a building belonging to the Jerusalemite Yassin Hassan Mustafa, and demolished the three-storey building that had existed 10 years ago.
The Israeli occupation refuses to issue building permits to Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem, and prevents construction or land reclamation in the areas under its control in the occupied West Bank, while it widely increases the number of building permits granted to Israeli settlers in Jerusalem.
The Israeli occupation authorities are pursuing various forms of harassment of the Jerusalemite population to force them to leave the holy city and carry out settlement expansion.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the occupied Palestinian territories had recently documented the Israeli army’s demolition of 698 buildings and the displacement of 949 Palestinians in Area C of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, from the beginning of this year until October 18 last October.
