At dawn today, Thursday 10 March, Israeli occupation forces launched a campaign of mass arrests. 35 Palestinians citizens, including a deputy in the Legislative Council, have been detained.
In the Ramallah governorate 10 Palestinian citizens were arrested, including six from Silwad, east of the city.
Israeli forces arrested the head of the Baytin village council, Raed Hamed, after storming his house. Other arrestees include Salem al-Aqtash, from Ein Yabrud, and Abd al-Rahman al-Rimawi and Wissam al-Asmar from Beit Rima, both of whom are former detainees.
In Yatta, south of Hebron, Israeli forces arrested nine Palestinians, including a deputy in the Legislative Council, Khalil Rab‘i. The other Yatta detainees are Nasser Rab‘i, Fadl al-Jabarin, Jibrail al-Amour, Fadi al-Amour and his brother Muhammad al-Amour, Samer al-Dababsa, Yahya Abu Sabha, and Zakaria Abu Finar.
In al-Samu, south of Hebron, Hamza al-Rawashdeh was arrested.
In Azzun, east of Qalqilya, Israeli forces arrested eight Palestinians: Muhammad Juma‘a, Salim Radwan, Muaz Radwan, Salah Suwaidan, Adel Dahbour, Muhammad Radwan, Mahmoud Salama and Mustafa Inaya.
In Bethlehem, Israeli forces arrested recently-released Muhammad Abu Aker and Uday Hammash, both from the Dheisheh camp. From the Aida camp, Omar Aziyah, Farouk Badeir and Laith Abu Aker were arrested.
Israeli forces arrested Muhammad Abdullah Shaqour after raiding his home in the town of Kifl Haris, east of Salfit.
Occupation forces stormed the Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, in addition to homes in the surrounding neighborhoods, local sources report.
And, at the same moment, Israeli forces stormed a home in the village Jabaa, south of Jenin, and arrested the four brothers, Ghazi, Rami, Rashad, and Imad Muhammad Ibrahim Ghannam, plus Ma‘in Nasser Muhammad Alawni.
Israeli occupation forces typically make arrests during night raids on the homes of Palestinian activists, and after transferring them to detention centres within the occupied territories, before moving them to interrogation centres or prisons.
The number of Palestinian prisoners in the occupation prisons is approximately 4,500, including 34 women, 180 children, and 500 administrative detainees, or those detained without charge or trial.
