On Sunday, March 21, 2022, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) demolished two Palestinian-owned houses east of Ramllah, in the occupied West Bank.
Local sources said that Israeli military bulldozers completely destroyed the two houses for allegedly being built without Israeli permit. Solar panels were also destroyed during the demolition process.
The two demolished homes belong to the Palestinian Ali Mleihat and his son Muhammad Mleihat, local sources added.
Following the demolition operation, 12 family members including women and children become homeless.
Since the start of 2022, three local homes were demolished in the area as part of an Israeli large-scale displacement plan.
The UN has recently condemned “the continued demolition of Palestinian homes and the expulsion of Palestinian families in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.”
The UN also called to “take the necessary steps to protect civilians, including Palestinian refugees.”
In 2021, Israel demolished or confiscated 862 Palestinian-owned homes in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
