Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) states that Israeli occupation forces continue to kill Palestinians in cold blood, including by what amount to field executions.
Today, Friday 17 June, Israeli forces killed three Palestinian youth whilst storming a neighbourhood in the east of Jenin.
The three killed are Youssef Nasser Salah, 23 years old, Baraa Kamal Lahlouh, 24 years old, and Laith Salah Abu Sorour, 24 years old. Israeli forces showered a car all three were travelling in with live bullets. 10 other Palestinian citizens were injured, some seriously.
Recently, occupation forces have intensified their bloody attacks on the citizens of Jenin. As a result, a number of Palestinian children and other citizens have been killed, including journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who often covered such attacks for Al-Jazeera. Those who killed Abu Aqleh appear to have done so with impunity.
Since the beginning of 2022, at least 74 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces’ bullets, whether as deliberate targets or during raids. 14 children and 6 women have been killed. Moreover, mass arrests, home raids, and evictions have become a daily occurrence.
The increase of field executions of Palestinians follows the decision by Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to grant “all security forces complete freedom” to attack Palestinians. AOHR UK underlines the fact that such incitement is a blatant violation of international law and the basic principles of human rights.
Israeli forces’ particular use of lethal force against Palestinians is evidence of the lack of any international pressure that might end the occupation. The absence of any accountability for the perpetrators of such violence against the Palestinian people can no longer be ignored.
