On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, a Palestinian young worker from the Gaza Strip was killed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and settlers in the West Bank as he was en route to his workplace in 1948 occupied Palestine.
The ministry of labor in Gaza said that 32-year-old Ahmed Eyad died after IOF soldiers and settlers brutally beat him at dawn near the separation wall in Tulkarem after his attempt to reach his workplace via the separation wall.
For months, Israeli forces have been attacking workers along the separation wall in the villages and towns of the West Bank, preventing thousands from reaching their workplaces within the Green Line and arresting many.
Israeli occupation began building the separation wall, also known as the Apartheid Wall, in 2002 claiming security reasons.
However, the International Court of Justice ruled in 2004 that the wall violated international law because it led to the destruction and confiscation of Palestinian lands and property, and imposed unlawful restrictions on the movement of Palestinians.
More than 65 Palestinians in the West Bank have been killed by Israeli forces this year, including journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, a prominent TV reporter with Al Jazeera.
