Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) emphasises that yesterday’s attack on the besieged Gaza Strip reflects the brutality and bloodthirsty of the Israeli occupation, which is systematically killing Palestinians with live bullets and deadly missiles on Palestinian lands.
The aggression on the Gaza Strip was sudden and surprising, and it breaches agreements prohibiting the killing and targeting of civilians, however, the occupation government continues to violate international humanitarian laws to achieve political agendas at the expense of the Palestinians, who have been suffering a severe siege for more than 16 years.
The brutality of the aggression became crystal clear in Friday’s bombing, during which 11 Palestinians, including a child, were killed, and 75 others were wounded in the first 11 hours only. The heinous scene brought memories of the repeated serious crimes of the occupation planes on the Gaza Strip in the past years.
The disgraceful stance of the US administration, which considered the killing of civilians self-defence, gives a green light and unconditional support for the occupation government to commit more crimes against the innocent civilians. This shameful position has never changed since the beginning of the occupation of Palestine.
Likewise, the reaction of the UAE and Bahrain was also despicable. Instead of closing their embassies and condemning the brutal attacks on Palestinians, their two embassies warned their citizens in Palestinian lands and called them to follow the instructions of the occupation government, in an attempt to show further normalization and support of the occupation, regardless of all laws.
AOHR UK stressed the need to deter the occupation government and bring those responsible for this crime to justice, by actions from the public prosecutor in the International Criminal Court, who has not done anything since he assumed his position in terms of pursuing the perpetrators of crimes from the occupation leaders and his soldiers, despite having files on the serious crimes committed and stipulated in Rome Status.
AOHR UK held the international community and decision makers in the world responsible for the crimes committed against the Gaza Strip due to their failure to stop these repeated crimes of the IOF. AOHR UK called for an urgent intervention to stop bloodshed in the Gaza Strip in order to save the lives of hundreds of civilians, children and women from the ongoing Israeli war crimes.
