On Monday, October 3, 202, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at a Palestinian car boarded by three young men near al-Jalazon refugee camp in northern Ramallah.
Two Palestinian young men were killed, and a third injured, during the shooting attack.
The two martyrs were identified as Basel Basbous and Khaled ad-Dabbas from al-Jalazon refugee camp and the third one, who suffered from bullet injuries, was Salama Ra’fat from Birzeit town.
The IOF kidnapped the two martyrs and the wounded young man and confiscated the car they were aboard following the shooting attack.
The two victims brought the total number of those killed in the occupied territories since the start of the year to 167.
Occupation forces have significantly escalated military raids in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem during the past several weeks, following a green light from Israeli political officials.
The Occupation Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has recently issued a written order to grant “all security forces full freedom” to advance assaults on Palestinians.
In January 2022, the Israeli occupation officially allowed its troops to shoot at Palestinians who had thrown rocks or firebombs, even if the suspect no longer present an immediate threat.
