On Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, a Palestinian man was killed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) during a military raid into Qalandia refugee camp, north of Occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said that 41-year-old Samir Awni Harbi was shot in the chest by IOF gunfire near Jerusalem.
According to local media sources, Samir was killed while trying to stop Israeli forces from arresting his son in Qalandiya camp.
Samir was left bleeding for several hours till breathing his last after Israeli forces prevented his medical assistance.
A comprehensive strike was declared in Qalandia camp in protest at the Israeli ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.
Earlier on Wednesday, two other Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire in separate incidents in the occupied West Bank.
Ahmad Abu Junaid, 21, was shot in the head and critically wounded during a morning raid by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Nablus’s Balata refugee camp.
He was taken to Rafidia Hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian young man was shot after he allegedly attempted to stab an Israeli settler in Hebron.
He was later identified as 19-year-old Sanad Mohammad Samasra.
