The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced, on Saturday, that Palestinian youth, Mithqal Suleiman Abdel Halim Rayan, 27, was shot dead by an Israeli settler in Salfit, northern the West Bank.
A group of armed settlers attacked Palestinian farmers and shepherds in Al-Ras area, northeast of Qarawat Bani Hassan, and one of the settlers fired directly at the Palestinians, shot Rayan in the head and killed him. He was immediately transferred to the health centre in the village, where he was announced dead.
Since the beginning of 2023, the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers has risen to 46, including an elderly woman, 9 children, and a prisoner.
About 725,000 settlers are distributed in 176 large settlements and 186 random outposts (unlicensed by the Israeli government) in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
The international humanitarian law prohibits the targeting of civilians and subjecting them to attack, whether a group or individuals.
