On Monday, April 3, 2023, two Palestinian young men died of critical bullet injuries after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at them during a raid in Nablus City.
According to the Palestinian health ministry, the two young victims suffered their injuries during a violent raid by Israeli forces in the city and were pronounced dead at Rafidia Hospital.
The slain young men were identified as Mohamed Abu Bakr and Mohamed al-Hallaq.
55 other citizens suffered from their exposure to tear gas fumes, the head of the Red Crescent in Nablus, Ahmed Jibril, said, adding that one of the IOF dogs attacked a citizen and injured him in his leg.
The IOF also launched a teargas attack on Red Crescent ambulances and on local homes during the raid. The intensity of tear gas forced several families to leave their houses.
Meanwhile, the IOF stormed different areas of the city and kidnapped two citizens after ransacking their homes. The detainees were identified as Izz al-Din Touqan and Nidal Tabanga.
The two victims bring the total number of those killed since the start of the year to 94, including 17 children and a woman.
International humanitarian law prohibits targeting civilians and subjecting them to attack, whether a group or an individual, and stresses respect for their lives, their physical and mental integrity, and their protection and humane treatment.
