On Monday, April 10, 2023, a 15-year-old Palestinian teen was shot and killed by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Aqabat Jaber refugee camp in Jericho.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the martyr as Muhammad Fayez Bilhan, 15, who was shot in the head, chest, and abdomen by IOF gunfire.
Two other foot injuries were reported during the IOF raid, the ministry added.
The Israeli occupation forces stormed the Aqabat Jabr camp in large numbers and besieged several local houses, which led to an outbreak of violent clashes.
The latest victim brought the total number of Palestinians killed by IOF since the start of the year to 96, including 18 kids and a woman.
International humanitarian law prohibits targeting civilians and subjecting them to attack, whether a group or an individual, and stresses respect for their lives, their physical and mental integrity, and their protection and humane treatment.
International human rights organisations must stop such egregious abuses, protect Palestinian children, and hold the perpetrators accountable.
