17 Sudanese were killed, and 106 others were injured due the heavy bombing of Mayo area in Khartoum.
The Sudan Doctors Syndicate stated that “The Mayo area witnessed violent and bloody bombing this afternoon, leaving 17 dead and more than 106 injured, of which 36 required surgical intervention”, adding that the number is increasing.
“The medical staff at Bashaer Governmental Teaching Hospital was filled with cases amid lack of medical staff.”
The syndicate called on all doctors and medical personnel present near the hospital to “help their colleagues stationed at Bashaer Hospital, taking into account personal safety in movement.”
On Wednesday, May 31, violent clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces erupted in several areas in Khartoum, killing and wounding hundreds, most of them civilians.
Thousands of Sudanese refugees are displaced into Egypt, Chad, Ethiopia and South Sudan every day due to the ongoing armed conflict which began on April 15, 2023.
Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK had recently called on the conflicting parties in Sudan to immediately stop the ongoing battles and seek a peaceful solution through a comprehensive national dialogue.
It also called on the UN Security Council to take immediate action to ceasefire and save the lives of innocent people at risk.
