Between 1 January and 29 May 2023, Israeli forces killed 112 Palestinians in the West Bank, including Occupied Jerusalem, more than twice the number of deaths (53) in the same period in 2022.
This came in the OCHA’s report on protection of civilians.
According to the report, Israeli settlers killed five Palestinians in the West Bank, including Occupied Jerusalem, three of whom were perpetrators/alleged perpetrators of attacks against Israelis.
4,296 Palestinians were also wounded during the same reported period by Israeli gunfire.
A total of 409 settler attacks were also reported on Palestinians and their property, of which 304 caused property damage, and 105 caused injuries.
575 Palestinian homes have been demolished since the start of the year, 85 in areas under PA control, 239 in Area C, and 251 in Occupied Jerusalem.
The Oslo II Accord divided the Israeli-occupied West Bank into three administrative divisions: the Palestinian enclaves as “Areas A and B” and the remainder, including Israeli settlements, as “Area C.”
