The head of Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin, Fawaz Hammad confirmed the killing of Othman Atef Abu Farid, 17, who was shot with a bullet in the head by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Tuesday morning, August 22, 2023.
He was killed during an IOF raid of Jenin, while another minor, Yazan Malik Al-Sharqawi, was arrested after raiding his family home in Al-Zababdeh, Jenin.
Since the beginning of this year 215, including 40 boys and girls, and 11 women, were killed by the IOF, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Organisations concerned with the rights of children must take swift measures to protect the rights of Palestinian children whose rights are being violated, especially the right to life, and bring those responsible for these crimes to justice.
The international law prohibits targeting civilian areas and subjecting civilians to attack, however the IOF and settlers have been systematic attacks since the occupation of Palestine, amid international silence.
