Heavy bombardment of Gaza by the Israeli occupation continues for the seventh day in a raw, resulting in the death of 1537 and the injury of 6612, half of whom are women and children. The structure of Gaza has also changed due to the intensity of the bombing, with 6000 bombs weighing 4000 tons being fired on the Gaza Strip, according to official statements by the occupation army.
The indiscriminate bombing of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) has led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of civilians to various places and also resulted in the collapse of the health sector.
Furthermore, the humanitarian situation worsened due to the cutting of water, fuel, and electricity, and the depletion of food, health supplies, and medicines, which turned Gaza into ruins.
This tragic humanitarian situation and the horrific crimes being committed against the unarmed civilians in Gaza were ignored by major countries in the international community, led by the US, which supports the occupation militarily in its ongoing massacres of civilians, in addition to its compliance in blocking all relief paths for the residents of the Gaza Strip by bombing the Rafah crossing and refusing to open a safe passage for entry of humanitarian aid.
Ironically, some country leaders promoted the lies of the occupation, obscured the truth, condemned the victim, and justified collective punishment of civilians. It is evident that the official media of those countries worked to deceive public opinion to justify their shameful positions.
The White House retracted the US President’s statements, in which Biden said that Gaza militants “beheaded children.” It confirmed that these statements were based on “allegations” by Israeli officials and local media reports and explained in an official statement that Biden and American officials “did not see these pictures or verified it independently.” However, this retraction was made without an apology or reference to the crimes occurring in the Gaza Strip, in which the US is directly involved.
Western governments, which have long claimed to defend freedom of opinion and expression, have launched a fierce campaign of repression to conceal any kind of solidarity with the Palestinian people, and terrorised human rights defenders who reject the crimes of the occupation.
In a shameful and biased position, the British Home Secretary gave instructions to the police to prevent waving the Palestinian flag, or chanting slogans in support of Palestine, and called on the police to take quick measures to suppress the demonstrators.
The French government also prevented demonstrations in support of the Palestinian people, and the French Prime Minister threatened to arrest participants in those demonstrations.
The European Union threatened the owner of the “X” platform, Elon Musk, to impose sanctions on publishing what they called “misleading content” on the ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of pushing him to delete contents supporting Palestine, like Facebook does.
Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) calls on the free media, social media influencers, human rights institutions and defenders around the world, to reveal the truth of what is happening in the Gaza Strip to the whole world. The destruction of the whole Strip, the women and children who are getting killed in this aggression, the prevention of relief from reaching victims, and the lies of some Western governments to justify their shameful support for the crimes of the occupation must all be exposed.
