70 people, mostly women and children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on convoys fleeing Gaza City on Friday evening.
The new Israeli massacre was carried out against three convoys in Salah al-Din and al-Rashid Streets at three different times as they attempted to reach the southern parts of the besieged Gaza Strip.
The Israeli attack killed 70 people and injured more than 200 others, the majority of whom were women and children.
“We left the Gaza Strip in search of safety, and we are all families, but we were surprised by the Israeli occupation bombing the trucks carrying us,” an eyewitness who was with the displaced people who were bombed, said. All of a sudden, everything went black, and I could see scores of dead and hurt people. Then I lost consciousness for 10 minutes, and after that, the displaced people were bombed once again.
For the seventh consecutive day, Israeli warplanes have launched hundreds of air raids on civilian houses and infrastructure in various areas of the Gaza Strip, leading to hundreds of casualties and vast destruction.
As it puts the lives and property of civilians in grave danger, Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian and human rights laws.
The unjustified killing of civilians and healthcare workers constitutes a war crime, whose perpetrators should be held accountable and tried before the International Criminal Court. This brutal aggression highlights the need to prosecute those responsible and bring them to justice.
