An Israeli airstrike in Gaza City at the crack of dawn on Monday claimed the lives of seven Palestinian Civil Defence members and injured others.
The Israeli airstrike targeted two Civil Defense headquarters in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood, east of Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of five Civil Defense members.
The Israeli aircraft also launched several air raids on different areas in Tal Al-Hawa, the Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood, and Al-Shuja’iya, destroying large number of residential homes and infrastructure.
The Red Crescent Society also reported that Israeli warplanes launched five air raids around its Al-Quds Hospital in the Gaza Strip.
The WHO Surveillance System for Attacks on Health Care has earlier recorded 48 health attacks since the beginning of hostilities, which included the killings of 12 health workers and the injury of 20 others while on duty. At least 12 UNRWA staff were also killed.
Since October 7, WHO has documented 63 attacks against health in the West Bank, including obstruction to delivery of health care, physical violence towards health teams, detention of health staff and ambulances, and militarized search of health assets.
According to the UN report, all humanitarian agencies and personnel have faced major constraints in providing humanitarian assistance due to airstrikes, movement restrictions, and shortages of electricity, fuel, water, medicines, and other essential items. The prevailing insecurity is preventing safe access to people in need and essential facilities, such as warehouses.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale raid and arrest campaign across the West Bank at dawn Monday.
More than 73 Palestinians were detained during the raids, including two journalists and ex-prisoners.
The growing Israeli arrest campaigns in the West Bank coincide with the Israeli bloody and ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.
According to the health ministry, 58 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since October 7, including 14 children and women.
As it puts the lives and property of civilians in grave danger, Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian and human rights laws.
The unjustified killing of civilians and healthcare workers constitutes a war crime, whose perpetrators should be held accountable and tried before the International Criminal Court. This brutal aggression highlights the need to prosecute those responsible and bring them to justice.
