Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) stressed that the humanitarian truce that began on Friday, November 24, is a great opportunity to implement the decision of the Arab and Islamic Summit to break the siege on the Gaza Strip, however, the ministerial committee formed by the summit did not visit the Gaza Strip to review the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the Israeli bombing and the siege of the Strip until now.
After two weeks of its issuance, the summit’s decision to break the siege on the Gaza Strip has no longer any significant meaning, given the lack of political will to implement it. It also reflects the blatant compliance with the American-Zionist agenda of tightening the siege on Gaza, which is being carpet bombed and suffering huge humanitarian and material losses.
The failure of the Arab and Islamic regimes to impose any pressure on the colonial West to implement a ceasefire and bring humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip has significantly contributed to encouraging the occupation in its extermination war, and reflects compliance with the agendas put forth for “Gaza post the war”.
Since the first day of the war on Gaza, the Egyptian regime and other regimes had been implementing plans to further tighten the siege on the Gaza Strip, and it still prevents medical teams from different countries from entering the Gaza Strip. It also prevents the entry of rescue teams and heavy equipment to remove the rubble and search for the missing people buried under the rubble. In addition to this, international media were not allowed to enter to document the genocide committed by the occupation forces against the Palestinians and deliver the truth to the world.
Sisi’s deception must stop immediately. He speaks in press conferences with heads of foreign countries about post-war issues, including his suggestions for establishing a demilitarised Palestinian state, while completely ignoring the ongoing massacres by Israel, the stifling siege that contributes to the killing of more civilians, and what should be done to put an end to the Israeli occupation.
AOHR UK pointed out that only a few of the injured have been able to leave through the Rafah crossing, and some of them were forced to pay bribes to Egyptian officers to be included on the lists. Moreover, the injured who were admitted to Egyptian hospitals are being treated as prisoners. They are being prevented from communicating with the outside world, leaving their rooms, or even going to the cafeteria.
AOHR UK called on all international organisations and countries that stood against the Israeli war on Gaza to form an alliance to pressure Sisi regime to break the siege on Gaza and bring in all the necessary equipment to save the Palestinians in Gaza from the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the siege and the random bombing of houses and facilities.
