Israeli air, sea, and land attacks continued to bomb the Gaza Strip for the 66th day in a row, resulting in the destruction of more than 61% of the homes and residential units in the Gaza Strip.
According to the government media office (GMO) in Gaza, the Israeli occupation destroyed more than 305,000 housing units as part of its genocidal war against the Palestinian people.
The GMO warned the international community and agencies of a real humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip in light of the high number of destroyed homes and residential units.
Since the start of its Israeli war on Gaza, Israeli warplanes have dropped more than 52,000 tons of explosives on local homes, hospitals, schools, and civilian institutions, the GMO estimated.
The GMO pointed out that 1.5 million people have been displaced since the start of the Israeli aggression amid an acute shortage of food, water, and basic human needs.
It further said that the Israeli complete ban on food and medical supplies’ entry into the Gaza Strip constitutes a death sentence against 2.4 million people in the territory.
The Israeli army resumed bombing the Gaza Strip last Friday after declaring an end to a week-long humanitarian truce.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian and human rights law as it exposes civilians’ lives to extreme danger, which requires immediate international intervention.
The international community must force the Israeli occupation forces to abide by international human rights and humanitarian laws, mainly protecting the rights and lives of civilians, prohibiting their targeting and preserving their safety, and holding the Israeli leaders accountable for committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
