19,453 Palestinians killed in the ongoing 74-day Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip

For the 74th consecutive day, the Israeli occupation’s massive carnage continues to claim more lives in the Gaza Strip as its army persists in bombing homes and buildings and targeting civilians.

The death toll from Israeli bombardments in the Gaza Strip has risen to over 19,453 victims, the Palestinian Health Ministry revealed.

52,286 people have also been injured since the start of the Israeli aggression.

According to the health authorities, the Israeli occupation committed, over the last few hours, 16 massacres in the Gaza Strip. The last of which was the bombing of Nasser Medical Complex and the killing of the child, Donia Abu Mohsen, while receiving treatment.

151 Palestinians were killed and 313 injured during the past hours, many of them were reported in Jabalia.

The ministry pointed out that there are a large number of victims still being buried under the rubble of homes or lying on roads.

The health authorities also pointed to the massacre that was committed by the Israeli occupation forces at Al-Shifa Hospital, saying that 28 civilians were killed and dozens were injured in two Israeli strikes on the facility and its entrance over the past six hours.

The health ministry also said that the Israeli occupation forces are deliberately targeting the health presence in northern Gaza by destroying hospitals and arresting their staff. This constitutes the execution of about 800,000 people there,” the ministry added, noting that “hundreds of thousands of wounded, pregnant women, children, and patients with chronic diseases in northern Gaza are without health services.”

“The international silence towards the Israeli crimes and destruction of hospitals in northern Gaza and the arrest of their staff constitute a green light to implement another criminal scenario in southern Gaza, the ministry said, referring to the targeting of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis twice in less than 12 hours yesterday.

“The health situation in hospitals in southern Gaza is catastrophic and complicated, due to a shortage of clinical, medical, and human resources suitable to handle the volume and variety of injured patients.”

The health authorities indicated that “the operating rooms in hospitals in southern Gaza are overcrowded and unable to respond to large numbers of critical and dangerous injuries, leading to the death of many injured,” calling on international institutions to take urgent action to provide medicines, medical consumables, fuel, and specialized medical teams.

It indicated that 310 health personnel were killed during the Israeli attacks, while hundreds more were injured.

The Israeli occupation deliberately targeted 138 medical facilities, put 22 hospitals and 52 primary care centres out of service, and destroyed 102 ambulances, the health ministry estimated.

The health ministry pointed out that Israel is still detaining 93 health personnel from the Gaza Strip, including the directors of hospitals in northern Gaza, Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, Dr. Ahmed Al-Kahlot, and Dr. Ahmed Muhanna, in inhumane conditions and subjecting them to severe torture and abuse.

The Palestinian Health Ministry called on all institutions to “work immediately to provide medicine and fuel supplies needed to operate the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, and to establish field hospitals all over the Gaza Strip.

Since Oct. 7, the Israeli occupation army launched a bloody aggression on the Gaza Strip, causing a severe humanitarian and health catastrophe.

The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian and human rights law as it exposes civilians’ lives to extreme danger, which requires immediate international intervention.

The international community must force the Israeli occupation forces to abide by international human rights and humanitarian laws, mainly protecting the rights and lives of civilians, prohibiting their targeting and preserving their safety, and holding the Israeli leaders accountable for committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
