For the 76th consecutive day, the Israeli occupation’s massive carnage continues to claim more lives in the Gaza Strip as its army persists in bombing homes and buildings and targeting civilians.
Over the 76-day aggression, the Israeli occupation killed 20,000 Palestinians, including 8,000 children, 6,200 women, 310 medical personnel, 35 civil defence members, and 97 journalists, the government media office (GMO) revealed.
52,600 Palestinians were also injured during the attacks, according to GMO estimates.
The GMO pointed out that 6,700 people were reported missing, either under rubble or because their fate remains unknown; 70% of these victims are children and women.
308,000 residential units were completely or partially destroyed by the attacks.
114 mosques were completely destroyed, while 200 others were partially damaged, in addition to three churches.
Meanwhile, 126 government offices and 90 schools and universities were completely destroyed, while 283 schools and universities were partially damaged.
The Israeli attacks also targeted more than 23 hospitals, 53 health centres, 140 health facilities, and 102 ambulances.
More than 1.8 million people were displaced, while 2.4 million people are living in difficult and unprecedented humanitarian conditions, the GMO said.
The GMO also held the international community and the United States, along with Israel, fully responsible for the genocide war against the people of Gaza.
The GMO also called for “opening the Rafah crossing and allowing the entry of a thousand trucks of aid supplies daily and about a million litres of fuel, saying that “the aid entering the Gaza Strip does not meet 2 per cent of its population’s needs.”
The GMO also called on Arab and Islamic countries to allow the entry of “medically equipped field hospitals, to save the lives of tens of thousands of wounded and sick, and to allow the travel of thousands of them to receive treatment abroad.”
Since Oct. 7, the Israeli occupation army launched a bloody aggression on the Gaza Strip, causing a severe humanitarian and health catastrophe.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian and human rights law as it exposes civilians’ lives to extreme danger, which requires immediate international intervention.
The international community must force the Israeli occupation forces to abide by international human rights and humanitarian laws, mainly protecting the rights and lives of civilians, prohibiting their targeting and preserving their safety, and holding the Israeli leaders accountable for committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
