In light of the recent harrowing developments in the Gaza Strip, particularly the ongoing attacks in Rafah and the deteriorating humanitarian situation, which heralds an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, the Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) is organising a webinar aimed at shining a spotlight on the critical humanitarian situation in Gaza. This is especially crucial for Rafah, as it has become the last refuge for displaced people. These issues will be the focus of the webinar, addressing the humanitarian crisis and famine resulting from the ongoing crime of genocide in the region.
During the webinar, we will delve into the following topics:
- Current humanitarian challenges and their impact on Gaza’s civilian population.
- Possible legal and human rights measures to confront the ongoing crimes of genocide.
- Strategies to bolster the international response to the situation in Gaza, with a particular focus on the positions of Arab and Islamic nations.
- The pivotal role of human rights organisations, the global human rights community, and advocates in influencing decision-makers.
