Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) is organising a critical webinar on Tuesday, 21 May at 17:00 London Time to address the ongoing genocide in Gaza by Israeli occupation forces. This event will also focus on the blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza and the suppression of protests worldwide against these atrocities.
The webinar aims to shed light on the severe oppression faced by protesters in various countries. In Jordan and Egypt, regimes are forcefully quelling any demonstrations supporting the Palestinian cause, with numerous protesters being arrested. In the United States, police are storming encampments at universities where students protest against the genocide and demand justice for Palestine.
Furthermore, the webinar will discuss the repercussions faced by academics in the West who speak out in support of Palestine. Many have lost their teaching positions due to their stance. Students are also under threat, facing potential expulsion, loss of scholarships, and withdrawal of insurance support for expressing solidarity with Palestine.
This event will provide a platform for discussing these pressing issues and bringing international attention to the human rights violations occurring both in Gaza and globally against those who stand with Palestine.
