The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that 75 percent of Gaza’s population were subjected to forced displacement, a large number of whom were displaced 4 or 5 times since last October 7.
The UN agency stated that thousands of Palestinian families have no longer a place to go, as the Israeli war and bombing pose a constant threat to their lives, buildings have turned into rubble, and there is no safe place to go to in Gaza.
On Wednesday, UNRWA stated that its staff in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, continue to support the people by providing sanitation, water, waste collection and guidance, adding that the challenges are enormous due to scarcity of water, fuel and health resources, noting the need for safe and unhindered access to protect people in Gaza.
Earlier Wednesday, UNRWA also said on X that they lose patients every day due to the lack of medical capabilities, adding that medical personnel in Gaza are working tirelessly, but they need resources.
UNRWA pointed out that patients who need blood transfer receive it from UNRWA employees and displaced families to meet their need.
Since October 7, the Israeli occupation army has waged a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which has left an enormous humanitarian catastrophe and a major health and environmental disaster.
The Israeli occupation destroyed the only supplies of fuel, electricity, water, and food for the people of the Gaza Strip at the start of the conflict by bombing bakeries, factories, stores, water stations, tanks, and other infrastructure.
The Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, as it exposes the civilians’ lives to extreme danger and causes them great suffering, which requires urgent and decisive international intervention to stop the aggression and protect civilians in the Gaza Strip.
