The far-right Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and the Minister of Negev and Galilee Affairs, Yitzhak Wasserlov, stormed on Tuesday morning the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem under tight military protection.
Ben Gvir and Vasserlauf stormed the holy site via the Mughrabi Gate, and toured the eastern courtyard, accompanied by a large number of police officers.
The Israeli occupation forces prevented, meanwhile, Palestinian worshipers from entering the Mosque.
Hundreds of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated on Tuesday morning the Aqsa Mosque to mark what they call the destruction of the temple.
According to the Islamic Awqaf Administration in the holy city, the Israeli occupation police allowed over 2,250 settlers to enter the Aqsa Mosque and defile its courtyards while doing provocative practices, including singing the Israeli anthem, performing prayers, carrying the Zionist flag, and dancing.
The Administration added that the Israeli forces restricted the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the Mosque, and deployed large forces at its gates in order to facilitate the settlers’ incursion.
The Israeli police turned the Old City of occupied Jerusalem into a military barracks, and deployed hundreds of its elements at the gates of the holy site, and tightened its military measures at its gates.
These incursions came after extremist settler groups called for mass incursions into Aqsa, on the anniversary of what is known as the “destruction of the temple.”
