In its ongoing aggression on Lebanon, the Israeli occupation bombed Ain El-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in Sidon, killing six refugees, half of them are children, and wounded others.
The occupation’s warplanes bombed a house in the Manshiyeh neighborhood, in Ain El-Hilweh camp, killing 6 citizens, including 3 children.
The bombing coincided with the Israeli occupation’s announcement of the start of a ground military operation in southern Lebanon.
On Monday evening, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the raids on Lebanon within 24 hours had reached 95 dead and 172 wounded.
Attacks targeting civilian camps, especially those that result in the killing of civilians, including children, constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, as international laws, including the Geneva Conventions, prohibit attacks on civilians and civilian facilities, and consider any direct targeting of civilians a war crime.
The targeting of children compounds the seriousness of these violations, as children are among the most vulnerable groups and must be given special protection, which requires the relevant authorities to conduct comprehensive and transparent investigations into these incidents to ensure accountability, provide support to victims and their families, and ensure respect for human rights at all times.
