The Israeli occupation army completely destroyed 814 mosques and targeted 19 cemeteries in Gaza during a year of genocide it is waging on the sector.
The Ministry of Waqf and Religious Affairs in Gaza reported that the occupation continues to violate religious sanctities and international laws by targeting mosques, cemeteries, and endowment assets. The Ministry noted that the financial losses amount to $350 million, with 814 mosques leveled to the ground and 148 other mosques severely damaged. The attacks also targeted 3 churches and 19 cemeteries, of which 8 were completely destroyed and 11 partially, amidst grave desecration and theft of corpses.
The Ministry held the occupation and all those who support it fully responsible for targeting women, children, elders, mosques, places of worship, and cemeteries, emphasizing that the continuation of this genocide exacerbates the humanitarian and health conditions in Gaza, under the strict siege that prevents the arrival of essential supplies of food, water, medicine, and electricity.
Since October 7, 2023, the systematic genocide aimed at eradicating all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip has continued, targeting humans, stones, and trees alike. However, the international community remains powerless in the face of these crimes, necessitating urgent steps to hold the Israeli leaders involved accountable and bring them to international justice. Serious efforts must also be made to end the genocide and lift the suffocating siege on Gaza immediately, to ensure the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid and alleviate the suffering of the besieged population.
