2,672 people have been killed since the start of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon since October 8, 2023, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
19 people were killed and 108 injured in southern and eastern Lebanon as a result of Saturday’s Israeli occupation raids, the ministry said in a statement.
It provided the following information about the locations and number of victims: 7 people were killed and 48 injured in the south, 10 people were killed and 55 injured in Nabatieh, and 2 people were killed and 5 injured in Baalbek-Hermel.
According to the statement, this raises the total number of fatalities and injuries to 2,672 and 12,468 since the start of the aggression (October 7, 2023) until Saturday.
More than 1.2 million people have been displaced by the Israeli aggression, in addition to the fatalities, injuries, and significant material damage, according to Lebanese authorities.
As a result of the Israeli occupation army’s ongoing presence in Lebanon since September 23, the “most violent and extensive” aggression since the start of the clashes with Hezbollah approximately a year ago, all of these figures are anticipated to increase.
Hezbollah and Palestinian factions in Lebanon are calling for an end to the genocide war that the Israeli occupation, backed by the United States, has been waging on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. In the midst of widespread destruction and a deadly famine, this war has left over 137,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, the majority of them women and children, and over 10,000 reported missing.
It should be noted that international law protects civilians in conflict areas. Targeting civilians directly or indirectly is regarded as a serious violation, as is targeting homes. As such, a thorough investigation is necessary to hold those accountable for these crimes.
