The Israeli siege of Jenin and its refugee camp continues into its fifth day, accompanied by intensified military assaults across other areas of the occupied West Bank, marked by raids, killings, and forced displacement of civilians.
In Jenin, Israeli forces persist in demolishing and setting fire to homes within the besieged camp, causing thousands of residents to flee under worsening humanitarian conditions. In Al-Silah Al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, Israeli troops surrounded a home and demanded its occupants surrender via loudspeakers. Reinforcements have been deployed to Jenin city and the camp, further exacerbating civilian suffering.
In Qabatiya, Israeli airstrikes targeted a civilian car, killing two Palestinians in a deadly escalation of violence.
Meanwhile, in Hebron, the Israeli military launched a series of raids on the towns of Surif, Deir Samet, and Tarqumiya. In Al-Arroub refugee camp, clashes erupted as a Palestinian youth was injured by Israeli gunfire and transferred to hospital for treatment. Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces used live ammunition and stun grenades against Palestinian youths, causing injuries and property damage.
In Nablus and Bethlehem, Israeli forces stormed the towns of Za’atara and Rujeib, firing live rounds and tear gas while targeting residential areas. A similar raid occurred in Birzeit, north of Ramallah, terrifying residents and causing infrastructure damage.
These ongoing Israeli assaults reflect a significant escalation in the policy of collective punishment against Palestinians in the West Bank. The killings, forced displacements, and attacks on civilians and infrastructure constitute severe violations of international humanitarian law and demand an immediate international response to halt these crimes and hold those responsible accountable.
