On Thursday morning, March 6, 2026, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) demolished 17 Palestinian homes in Nour Shams camp.
This city has been witnessing Israeli violations for 39 days, and its camp for 26 days, amidst demolitions and destruction of infrastructure and forced displacement of citizens.
The IOF gave the owners of the homes only two hours to evacuate them, before bulldozers began destroying them while firing live ammunition to terrorise the residents.
The demolition included homes belonging to the families of Hamad, Alian, Aamer, Shihab, Shalabi, Younis, Ghanem, Masharqa, Alajma, Abu Shala, and Sa’ayda. The IOF claimed that they will be paving a new road where these houses were, which is a clear attempt to change the geographical character of the camp.
The demolition of homes and the forced displacement of Palestinians constitute a grave violation of international humanitarian law, as the Fourth Geneva Convention prohibits any destruction of private property in the occupied territories except for the most urgent military necessity, which does not apply to the occupation’s policy, as it uses demolition as a tool of systematic collective punishment.
The forced displacement of residents from their homes is also a war crime under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which classifies “forcible transfer” as a crime requiring international accountability.
The Israeli aggression was not limited to demolition and destruction, but also included imposing a tight siege on the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, as the occupation forces closed the entrances to the camps with earth mounds, imposed strict restrictions on movement, and turned civilian homes into military barracks where snipers are stationed.
Over the past few days, the occupation forces demolished more than 11 additional homes in the camp, as part of a broader plan to distort the Palestinian urban fabric and pave new settlement roads.
The ongoing aggression has resulted in the killing of 13 Palestinians, including a child and two women, one of whom was 8-months pregnant, in addition to the injury and arrest of dozens.
P The occupation forces have also forced more than 9,000 displaced persons from Nour Shams camp and 12,000 from Tulkarm camp to leave their homes under the pressure of systematic bombing and destruction.
