In yet another chapter of the ongoing genocide against civilians in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces committed a horrific massacre early Friday in Beit Lahia and Jabalia refugee camp, located in the north of the territory.
The airstrikes killed at least 30 civilians and left dozens more injured, while many remain missing beneath the rubble of residential homes destroyed as families slept inside.
Israeli warplanes targeted more than ten densely populated homes, causing widespread devastation and a high death toll in scenes now tragically routine under total international silence.
In the al-Salatin neighbourhood west of Beit Lahia, another home was struck, killing one person and injuring 13 others. Emergency teams faced major difficulties reaching the affected areas due to ongoing bombardment and destroyed roads.
These massacres follow a deadly Thursday in which 136 Palestinians were killed across the Gaza Strip: 83 in the south, 5 in the central region, 11 in Gaza City, and 37 in the north—demonstrating the escalating scale of devastation.
Since 7 October 2023, Israeli forces—backed unconditionally by the United States—have waged a documented campaign of genocide in Gaza, resulting in nearly 173,000 deaths and injuries, the majority of whom are women and children, along with over 11,000 people reported missing.
The tragedy is not only in the numbers. Entire communities have been wiped out, infrastructure obliterated, the healthcare system collapsed, and famine is rapidly spreading under a suffocating blockade that prevents the entry of humanitarian aid—all while the international community remains paralysed.
The repeated targeting of residential homes, particularly during night hours, reveals a deliberate policy of depopulating Gaza. The consistent pattern of strikes, lack of prior warnings, and the frequent extermination of entire families are clear markers of an intent to destroy—core to the legal definition of genocide.
Despite the clarity of these legal indicators, Israel continues to commit atrocities with political and military cover from powerful states—including the US, UK, France, and Germany—who shield it from accountability and continue to provide funding and weapons.
As each day passes, the body of evidence grows and the scale of the crime becomes more apparent. Yet the perpetrators remain at large, and justice remains deferred.
