Israeli occupation’s violations against Palestinian civilians continue in Hebron Governorate, where Thursday witnessed one of the largest arrest and raid campaigns. A total of 56 citizens were detained, including two women, accompanied by abuse against residents and destruction of property, especially in Beit Ummar, north of the governorate.
Occupation forces stormed areas including Wadi al-Hariyya and Khirbet Qalqas, south of the city, arresting several members of the Al-Atrash family, including Qusay Abu Aisheh, Raed Shaher Al-Atrash, and the brothers Adeeb, Nour, and Mohammed Anwar Barakat Al-Atrash.
Raids and arrests also took place in the towns of Deir Samet and Al-Burj, west of Hebron, where detainees included Baheej Mahmoud Al-Hroub, Mahrez Khaled Al-Talahmeh, and brothers Malik and Mohammed Al-Talahmeh, after their homes were ransacked.
The situation escalated most significantly in Beit Ummar, where Israeli occupation forces imposed a strict siege for the second consecutive day, turning the area into a closed military zone and shutting all entrances.
The army carried out widespread abuse, converting homes into military posts, destroying belongings, and detaining over 40 civilians, among them two women, inside the town’s stadium under harsh conditions. Eyewitnesses reported mistreatment and humiliation of the detainees.
Known detainees include: Walid Ali Adi, Mohammad Jawdat Bahr, Murad Sabarneh, Deyar Suleibi, Saeed Abu Turk Al-Alami, Issam, Rabhi and Yahya Ikhlail, Wassim Al-Za’qiq, Issam Al-Amour, Ismail Suleibi, Youssef Al-Alami, and members of the Sabarneh, Al-Za’qiq, and Abu Maria families. Among them was also Suheir Abu Maria, the mother of martyr Ibrahim Al-Za’qiq.
This latest campaign demonstrates increasing violations against civilians, mass arrests without legal warrants, sealing off entire areas, home invasions, and restrictions on movement, all infringing on residents’ basic rights to safety, mobility, and shelter.
The use of collective punishment tactics such as open-air mass detentions, including women, with reports of abuse and property damage, constitutes a flagrant violation of humanitarian standards.
Today’s events in Hebron exemplify the harsh daily reality facing Palestinians across the West Bank, where repeated raids, arrests, and sieges are pushing communities into deeper psychological, social, and economic distress, amid international silence.
