The two detained brothers, Ahmed and Adal Musa, from Al-Khader town, in the West Bank, resumed their open-ended hunger strike in protest of their ongoing administrative detention.
The two arrested brothers decided to resume their strike after the Israeli occupation authorities renounced the agreements it made with them after holding a hunger strike for more than a month.
The detainee, Ahmed Musa, 43, was supposed to be released on Tuesday, December 06, 2022, based on the agreement, while Adal, 34, was to be released last November 6, however the occupation authorities renewed their administrative detention, with three months for Adal, and four months for Ahmed.
Administrative detention is known as detention without charge or trial, based on a secret file that neither the detainee nor his lawyer has access to, and according to the military orders of the occupation, the administrative detention order can be renewed unlimited times. Usually, the administrative detention order is issued for a maximum period of six months, renewable, which is a clear violation of the international humanitarian law.
Until last September, the number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons has reached 4700, including 30 female prisoners, about 190 minors, and 800 administrative detainees.
