The Bahraini authorities have punished five children for peacefully participating in demonstrations by extending their arbitrary detention.
The Public Prosecution in Bahrain renewed the detention of five children for a week pending investigation for participating in a peaceful demonstration in Sitra.
The five detained children are Mohamed Jaafar Al-Kuwaiti, 15, Muqtada Jaafar Al-Kuwaiti, 15, Muntadhar Jaafar aA-Kuwaiti,15, Ahmed Fadel Habil, 15, and Mohamed Abdul-Zahraa Mansour, 15.

Political activists, dissidents, lawyers, and human rights defenders have been subjected to severe suppression by the Bahraini authorities, particularly since 2016, including being threatened, summoned to the authorities, travel bans, arrest and imprisonment.
