The war of extermination waged by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip continues for the 233rd day, leaving thousands dead and wounded, and hundreds of thousands displaced from homes levelled to the ground in the northern part of the Strip.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported that “due to the ongoing military operation in Rafah, it has now become difficult to access the UNRWA distribution centre and the World Food Programme’s warehouse.”
UNRWA stated in a statement via the “X” platform that “the displaced in Gaza were forced to flee 6 times,” noting that “there is no security in the sector with the continuation of bombing and the lack of vital supplies.”
It added that ‘approximately half of the residents of Rafah and those displaced to it, that is 800,000 people, are now on the streets, after being forced to flee since the Israeli forces started their military operation in the area, on the 6th of May.
Since October 7 last year; the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which has claimed tens of thousands of lives, both killed and wounded, and has left catastrophic humanitarian and health conditions due to the continuous bombing and the prevention of supplies of food, water, medicine, and electricity.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, as it endangers the lives and property of civilians and causes them severe suffering, necessitating urgent and decisive intervention by the international community to stop the aggression and protect civilians in the sector.
