On Monday, Feb.6, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed five Palestinians in Aqabat Jabr refugee camp, southwest of Jericho in the West Bank.
The governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Jihad Abu al-Assal, affirmed that five Palestinian citizens were killed, at dawn today, during an Israeli military raid into the Aqabat Jaber camp, south of Jericho.
The bodies of the five victims were confiscated by the Israeli army, Abu al-Assal added.
The Israeli troops stormed the refugee camp early today amid heavy fire of live ammunition, leaving five killed and three others injured including one in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the Israeli forces arrested eight locals identified as: Shaker Amara, the two brothers Ihab and Ahmed Muhammad Hamidat, Abdel Hafez Fakhr Awaidat, Fakhr Abdel Hafez Awaidat, Muhammad Fakhr Awaidat, Muhammad Riyad Awaidat, and Abdel Hafez Wael Awaidat.
Earlier Sunday, the IOF troops stormed the Aqabat Jaber camp, injuring 13 people and arresting 15 others.
The Israeli occupation army continued to impose a tight siege o the refugee camp for the tenth consecutive day.
The international humanitarian law prohibits targeting civilians and subjecting them to attack, whether a group or individuals, and stresses respect for their lives and their physical and mental integrity, and their protection and humane treatment.
