For the seventh day in a row, the Israeli occupation army stepped up its military assault on the Palestinians in the northern occupied West Bank’s Jenin city and camp on Monday.
The camp is still under siege from all sides by the occupation, and its drones never leave the skies, and occasionally there are explosions audible.
Houses in the Jenin neighbourhoods of Al-Damj and Al-Bishr are still being destroyed by the Israeli occupation army.
According to official Palestinian sources, there is no precise information regarding the number of people who have been stranded, while the number of people who have been displaced by the occupation from the Jenin camp has reached approximately 3,200 Palestinian families, for a total of approximately 15,000 people.
There are “roughly 70 humanitarian cases and Palestinian families still inside the camp and in need of urgent intervention to get them out,” according to some local organisations.
The Israeli army has burned between 70 and 80 Palestinian homes, completely destroyed between 30 and 40 homes, and partially destroyed hundreds more. It also tortures anyone it finds inside their home and forces them to leave the camp.
On the debris of demolished Palestinian homes, the Israeli army paves roads for its vehicles while demolishing and destroying infrastructure and streets.
Official Palestinian data shows that since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Jenin Governorate, 16 Palestinians, including a girl, have been killed and 50 others have been injured.
In addition to settler attacks and increased military operations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, this aggression coincides with an unprecedented uptick in occupation activity.
Since the last war of extermination began in October 2023, the occupation has killed 875 Palestinians and injured roughly 6,700 others in the West Bank, according to official Palestinian data. It also continues to hold more than 14,000 Palestinian detainees.
The international community must take responsibility for these crimes by working to end the Israeli occupation and its aggressive practices, stopping the ongoing violations against Palestinian civilians, providing international protection for the Palestinian people, and putting an end to indiscriminate killing and forced displacement, which are blatant violations of human rights and international law.
