Israeli occupation authorities continue to enforce policies of forced demolition in Jerusalem and the West Bank, directly targeting Palestinian homes and properties.
In a recent case, Israeli occupation forces compelled a Palestinian man and his four sons to demolish their own homes in the town of Sur Baher, south of Jerusalem. These homes sheltered 12 individuals, including children, and their destruction represents a direct violation of children’s and family rights, leaving the affected families in a dire humanitarian situation without safe shelter.
Meanwhile, in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israeli occupation forces continued to issue demolition orders for several homes, escalating tensions and subjecting residents to the constant threat of losing their homes.
These actions represent a clear violation of international law, which prohibits the destruction of civilian property in occupied territories.
In Khirbet al-Tawil, near Aqraba south of Nablus, Israeli occupation forces demolished two agricultural structures, four water tanks, and a mobile toilet belonging to local families, without any prior warning. These facilities are essential for livestock farming and represent a key source of livelihood for the affected families, making their demolition a direct assault on the right to work and sustain a livelihood.
At the central vegetable market in Beita, south of Nablus, Israeli occupation forces demolished commercial shops after forcing owners to remove their goods. This not only disrupts the daily lives of traders and harms the local economy but also violates property rights and the right to work.
The recurring demolitions and forced evictions reveal a systematic policy aimed at pressuring Palestinians and displacing them from their lands. These actions flagrantly breach international conventions and human rights standards, severely undermining the rights to housing, dignity, and livelihood.
Such violations demand immediate international intervention to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians and to put an end to the ongoing infringements.
