As Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip entered its 23rd day on Sunday, the death toll climbed to over 8,005 victims and the number of injured to over 20,242 people, according to latest reports, amid intensifying Israeli airstrikes last night and today.
According to the ministry of health in Gaza, 3,342 children, 2,062 women, and 460 elderly people are among the reported victims, while hundreds more are still under rubble.
The Israeli forces also committed 56 massacres in the past hours, resulting in the killing of 302 civilians, the majority of whom were displaced from their homes.
The Israeli attacks deliberately targeted entire families, which led to the killing of 881 families.
The health ministry confirmed in a press conference on Sunday evening that the number of dead from the medical sector has risen to 116, in addition to the destruction of 25 ambulances and the targeting of 57 health facilities in the ongoing Israeli bombardment.
The ministry also underlined that the restoration of communications (at dawn today, two days after they were interrupted) revealed the magnitude of the holocaust committed by the IOF and the hundreds of victims as a result of yesterday’s violent bombardment.
It further revealed that there have been no new developments in the file of medical aid to hospitals.
The health authorities also warned of the rapid spread of epidemics among the displaced citizens due to water scarcity and a lack of personal hygiene.
Thus, the health ministry called on Egyptian authorities to immediately open the Rafah crossing to ensure the entry of aid supplies and fuel and called on all parties to work immediately to intervene urgently to help the collapsed health system.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian and human rights law as it exposes civilians’ lives to extreme danger, which requires an immediate international intervention.
The international community must force the Israeli occupation forces to abide by international human rights and humanitarian laws, mainly protecting the rights and lives of civilians, prohibiting their targeting and preserving their safety, and holding the Israeli leaders accountable for committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
