On the 80th day of the ongoing extermination war waged by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip; UNICEF warned of a real risk of starvation in the Gaza Strip.
The UNICEF stated on X that children and families in the Gaza Strip are currently contending with violence from the air and land deprivation, with the alarming possibility that “the worst may be yet to come.”
It stressed the need for quick and safe access for humanitarian aid to all children and families in Gaza, especially as “the threat of dying from hunger is already real,”
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, states that “The decimation of the Gaza health system is a tragedy”.
The UN official wrote on X that “In the face of constant insecurity and inflows of wounded patients, we see doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers and more continue striving to save lives.”
Since October 7, 2023, the IOF has been waging a genocidal war on Gaza, which has resulted in the killing of 20,424 and the injury of 54,036 so far, most of whom are children and women. This war has also resulted in a massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to the Gaza Strip authorities and the United Nations.
The occupation has cut off all supplies of electricity, water, fuel and food to the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip, bombed bakeries, factories, stores, water stations and tanks, and destroyed the infrastructure since the start of the war.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, as it exposes the lives and property of civilians to extreme danger and suffering, which requires urgent intervention by the international community to stop the aggression and protect civilians in the Gaza Strip.
